Pupils from 1st to 6th class took part in Maths Week , 10th – 18th October. Maths Week Ireland promotes, awareness, appreciation and understanding of maths.
Pupils in the senior room took part in the daily target board challenge on the Maths Week Ireland website and even made the national leader board on Wednesday. Well Done!
Pupils had a daily mind bending puzzle to complete online for homework and also took part in @Mathsweek discussion and puzzles on Twitter. #Mathsweek.
On Friday, we had a Puzzle Hour, where the pupils worked in groups to overcome challenges and puzzles of all shapes and sizes. They had to build bridges, towers for robots, a marble rollercoaster, work with tangrams, construct spaghetti and marshmallow towers and solve puzzles.
1st and 2nd class used the online Mangahigh maths website to work on different areas of the maths curriculum.
