History of Glinsk NS

Glinsk National School opened in 1983 with the closure and amalgamation of three local schools, Toberroe NS, Ballinacurry NS and Sonagh NS. There was a staff of six; Jim Mitchell, (Principal), Martin Ward, Josephine Nolan, Mary Kelly, James Shevlin, Mary Neary.

Falling enrolment, and a rising pupil-teacher ratio has reduced the teaching staff to three.

Glinsk NS is a Roman Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin.
