Pupils in 3rd & 4th class were very much looking forward to Engineers Week which took place at the beginning of March having completed the STEPS Young Engineers project early in the school year. Pupils worked in small groups to make a STEM Whizz engineering model which included a model airplane, an exercising robot, a working forklift model, an air blower and a ball pitching machine.

Pupils worked on making circuits, connecting motors as they assembled their model. They tested their models and came up with solutions to engineering problems that arose. For example, the airplane moved, but very slowly so the group decided to move the battery casing forward to sit on the wings, taking the weight off the rear wheels and the airplane flew across the floor at speed!
