The boys Cumann na mBunscol Championship took place at Glinsk G.A.A. pitch on Wednesday 3rd May. The visiting schools were Caltra N.S., Garbally N.S. and Kilglass N.S. Glinsk boys faced tough competition on the day but put in a good team performance helped along by the girls who are allowed to play in the boys championship. They finished the day with a well-deserved win!

Next up on was the girls Cumann na mBunscol Championship which also took place at Glinsk G.A.A. pitch on Friday the 5th of May. The girls were very focused and started off with a great win against Lisheen N.S./ Ardeevin N.S. Next up they faced Milltown N.S. and excelled again with great team play all under the watchful eye of coaches Stephen, Eamonn, Jason & Ms. Quinn. The girls followed this win with a break in the next round which gave them a chance to take stock of the next opposition!

They finished the third match with a win against Belmont N.S. with all coming down to the last match between Glinsk N.S. and Garrafraus N.S. The girls gave a master class in team play and skill winning once again. They have now qualified for the County Final in Loughgeorge on the 30th May, hopefully they will win their second Cumann na mBunscol title this year!

We are very grateful to Stephen who ensured the pitch was lined and ready for all the visiting schools. We appreciate all Stephen’s, Eamonn’s and Jason’s time given to coaching and encouraging the boys and girls teams on both days, not to mention the nice warm tea & coffee we received pitch side!
