Cumann na mBunscol Mini 7s

The Cumann na mBunscol Mini 7s Gaelic competitions took place at the beginning of October for the girls and boys. The girls travelled to Clonberne GAA pitch on Monday 2nd of October. The girls won their first game against Gortnaleam N.S./ Ballinlass N.S., came up against strong opposition in their second game against Clonberne N.S. and had a good win against Dunmore N.S. in their final group game. On the day, the girls played great football, worked hard as a team and were unlucky not to come out on top of the group.

The boys competition took place on Friday 6th of October in the dome at the Centre of Excellence much to the delight of the boys. The boys got off to a flying start with great pace, great passing and working the ball to the player in the best position to score. They won all three games in their group and went on to play Milltown N.S. in the area final. It was all to play for at half time but at the start of the second half Milltown N.S. got a few early scores opening a fair lead and eventually winning out on the day. Both the girls and boys teams should be very proud of their team efforts with lots more competitions to come late in the year. We are very grateful to Stephen Neary who gave generously of his time to help coach and encourage both teams each day.
