We held our annual Christmas concert on Friday the 15th December with a packed audience who were so supportive and encouraging of all our performers on stage. Parents, families, grandparents who were unable to attend on the Friday night joined us on Thursday 14th for a full rehearsal which was recorded by Sunshine Videos.

The night began with a music recital under the guidance of tin whistle teacher Orla Wynn. Pupils from 1st – 6th class played Walking in the Air, The Drummer Boy and Joy to the World with some lovely harmonies. Next the pupils sang When Christmas Comes to Town from The Polar Express.

Infants performed The Bossy Kings, 1st, 2nd & 3rd class performed the Christmas Code and the final show-stopping play by 4th, 5th & 6th class was Lights, Camel Action. Congratulations to all pupils who gave fantastic performances on the night.

We are very grateful to all the parents, families and businesses who sponsored prizes for our raffle. Two hurls signed by All-Ireland winning Joe Canning were auctioned on the night with the proceeds of one going to the Special Care Baby Unit in Portiuncla Hospital and the proceeds of the second going towards the school to fund activities for the children.

Thank you to the Parents Association who put a huge amount of thought and effort into preparations for the night and organised sound for the stage which was a great benefit and had the concert streamed live to a classroom so that all members of the audience were comfortably seated.

Santa visited and brought treats for all pupils and reminded us that cornflakes are his favourite! He presented to flowers on behalf of the Parents Association to Ms. Quinn & Ms. Kenny who are sadly finishing with us at Christmas. We wish both Ms. Kenny & Ms. Quinn the very best in their next teaching positions leaving with fond memories from Glinsk N.S.
