Our Christmas Concert took place on Friday 16th December to a packed audience. The Parents Association recently purchased music stands which were great to use for our concert. We began with music on the tin whistles directed by Orla which included lovely harmonies played by 6th class. We played Away in a Manger, Ding Dong Merrily on High and Oh Holy Night. Following this we sang A Spaceman came Travelling by Chris de Burgh.
Junior and Senior Infants presented the play Toby’s Christmas Drum, 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes presented The Midwife Crisis and 4th, 5th & 6th classes presented Straw and Order. All pupils gave fantastic performances, sang superbly and Straw and Order finished with the sheep shimmy which became contagious during rehearsals. Pupils from 4th, 5th & 6th class produced a programme for the concert with Teresa as part of their Learn to Type class.
Santa took time out of his busy schedule to make a quick stop at the concert and treated all children to a selection box. The night ended with refreshments and prizes galore in the raffle. Thank you to all the parents who helped out in so many ways in advance to prepare for the concert and on the night to make it a very successful and enjoyable night. Take a look at some photos taken during rehearsals.
