On the 16th March 2022, our school held a wellbeing day as part of our work towards the Amber Flag. Pupils left their bags and uniforms at home. It was a day filled with a range of fun feel-good activities.
In the morning, a buffet brunch was organised for the pupils and staff. There was a range of healthy foods on offer such as fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, watermelon, breakfast bars, croissants, muffins, rice krispie buns, rice cakes, and cheese.
After brunch, the pupils got to participate in three different activities – football with Ms McIntyre, tag rugby with Catríona and boxercise with Ms Sharkey. The sun shone brightly and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
After lunch, we undertook our fundraising challenge. Ms Nolan brought 11 swimmers to Roscommon Swimming Pool, where they collectively swam 5 miles for Pieta house. The rest of the school walked up to Glinsk Pitch, completed two laps of the pitch, either running or walking, and walked back down to the school.
Over 2000 euro was raised for Pieta House. it was a huge achievement for all involved. Huge thanks to everyone who sponsored our wonderful students, and to everyone who contributed in making it a fun action packed day.
