Shane Curley from Glinsk-Creggs Group Water Scheme organised a workshop on biodiversity and water quality for pupils in the senior room in assocation with Streamscapes and the National Federation of Group Water Schemes. Stephanie and Ruairí from Streamscapes presented a workshop in the classroom on the water cycle & usage, catchment concept, best practice, water quality, what living creatures need, invertebrates, life cycles, food webs and identification keys before the group moved to the glen to take kick samples in the river to apply what they learned in the classroom. Pupils explored and learned about the aquatic life in the river and also the impact that pollution can have on the river. Thank you to Shane, Stephanie, Ruairí and all the camera crew & sound staff from Streamscapes for a great educational experience. Take a look at some photos from the day below.
