Oíche Shamhna

Bhaineamar go léir taitneamh as Oíche Shamhna. Bhí gach duine gléasta suas le go leor cultacha iontacha. Is ar éigean a d’aithin muid roinnt daltaí!

We all enjoyed Halloween. Everyone was dressed up with lots of great costumes and we hardly recognised some pupils! Thank you to the Parents Association for organising a Halloween raffle for each classroom with lots of great prizes.

All classes gathered in the school hall for some Halloween games including spider races, ghost races and balloon races! We also tried the traditional Halloween game with the blindfold and pupils placed their hand into one of 4 plates which had coins, a ring, water or a rosary beads. It look like many of the pupils are going to travel when they are older! We finished off with some musical statues and the pupils got really into the spirit of it dancing in a conga line! Traditional bairín breac and apples were shared among all classes and some lucky pupils found the ring!

Take a look at more photos from our day below.

Pupils did some Halloween baking during the week also with 5th & 6th classes making chocolate biscuit cake and 3rd & 4th making gingerbread cookies which they enjoyed decorating and eating!
