We welcomed Martina and Adam from Galway Music Generation to the school on the final week of school for a music workshop with a variety of different instruments. We started off with some warm-up games which required concentration and co-ordination! Following this we all tried the ukulele and Martina taught us the strings for a sing along.
Next we tried the bodhrán and drums which included samba drums and snare drums. Some other instruments included the shakers, claves and maracas. Adam had his whistle to lead us in some samba beats typical of carnival helped out by the drummers keeping the beat for everyone. Take a look at some photos from our sessions below.
