All classes celebrated Maths week which is a favourite annual event with pupils, especially the target boards with pupils collaboratively working together as a class and showing their competitive edge, keen to do well.

Pupils in the junior room and middle room enjoyed an outdoor maths trail in lovely autumn sunshine, using their maths skills and maths eyes to work out questions based on different strands of the maths curriculum. They also took part in maths stations during the week.

Pupils in the senior room took part in an online workshop hosted by Maths Week Ireland and N.U.I.G. entitled “Mathematics is Surprising!” presented by Mr. Douglas Buchanan. The activities during the 30-minute presentation gave unexpected results whether looking at a chessboard, solving a simple number sentence or the mysteries of the Mobius Strip.
