All classes made St. Brigid’s crosses last Friday as we continued the tradition of pupils in 5th & 6th class helping the younger classes. We made traditional St. Brigid’s crosses, we made the Donegal cross which the late Mr. James Shevlin taught us how to make and some pupils made the Wexford rush doll. The St. Brigid’s cross is placed in homes and sheds to bring protection to all who dwell in the house and offer protection for animals in sheds. The meaning of the cross is explained below along with St. Brigid’s Blessing.
