Maths Eyes is a competition that encourages all age groups to see maths all around them in their environments and communities. “Having Maths Eyes changes the view of mathematics as being something everyone just does in school” [Maths Week Ireland website] During National Maths Week last October all pupils in the senior classroom took part in the National Maths Eyes competition.
Congratulations to Gabriells Kilcommons shortlisted in the U11 category and Ava Joyce shortlisted in the U14 category. There are only 5 entries shortlisted nationally in each category. Maths Eyes will hold an Award ceremony in the near future to announce all the winners.
Below are Ava & Gabrielle’s shortlisted entries.
