On Friday 13th May Glinsk N.S. took part in the school tin whistle band competition in Glenamaddy Community School as part of the Galway County Fleadh competition. Williamstown N.S., Clonberne N.S., Kilkerrin N.S., Ardeevin N.S, Lisheen N.S. & Glenamaddy N.S. also took part in the competition.

Each school played two contrasting pieces. Glinsk N.S. played Casadh an tSugán and Terry Tehan’s Polka which Daniel introduced to the audience as Gaeilge. Following our fantastic performance we were taken to the GP area where we received medals and chips & nuggets. Then it was back to the gym to hear the results of the competition which was a nervous wait!

Well done to Glenamaddy N.S, the overall winners. We think we put in a great performance and our harmonies were brilliant. Thank you to our tin whistle teacher for all her help preparing us for the Fleadh.
