Pupils celebrated engineers week 2022 during March and completed a number of different activities in engineering stations throughout the week. Pupils learned about the different types of engineers from chemical engineers to civil engineers and the nature of their work. We looked at engineering in our daily lives and how important it is from alarm clocks to trains and so much more. Designing your own creature was a popular station, with pupils using many recycled materials to come up with their own creature.

Cognitive is an engineering challenge with three levels involving placing a number of gears on a board so that when one gear rotates, all connected gears rotate if placed correctly. Pupils worked in groups showing off their engineering thinking but level 3 proved to be challenging requiring a lot more problem solving! Take a look at some photos below.
