Autumn seeds & fruit

We have been busy learning all about the different autumn fruits and in particular the seeds on the trees. We have collected up autumn leaves and brought them into school to have a close look at. Pupils planted beech nuts and we have left them out to survive the winter and hope we have green shoots in spring! Take a look at our planting below.

Elena also brought in ripe damson fruit from the tree in her garden. The damson fruit looks like a plum, but smaller. Elena treated us to homemade damson jam & homemade fruit cake made by her two grannies. Both went down a real treat, with only crumbs left!
